Bumps Along the Road

Hey guys, it's  me the director again. Sorry that I haven't been doing updates lately but I have been busy.  My project is still fine but  i do have a problem.  My voice actor is my problem.   Let me explain.   He was sick two times when we wanted to record his voice, and, he has lots of volleyball.  For example, today is provincials and he is on the team at Calvin Christian collegiate for volleyball.  He has been away for two days because he is playing.   I am not a huge fan of volleyball but I sure hope that he wins!
We will get him (his voice) recorded on Monday.
Also, besides my voice actor, my mentor/ teacher had an emergency one time.  His wife was locked out of her vehicle and he came to save the day.  I think that was more important than meeting with me that afternoon.
See you later !

Update #4

Hello viewers,
A little update today....I had to find some music to go with the theme for my video.  I learned some new things and I found some good music right on the editing program I am using.  It was hard work - just trying to find the right song.  I ended up finding three songs, but not sure which one I will use.  This is because it all depends on the mood of the voice caster.   Unfortunately, Matt was sick on this day and so I could not record his voice.  I'll do that next week.
This is the director saying"that's a wrap!"

Log 3

Aloha.
I was just waiting for day 4, for the computer teacher Mr. Pinto.  He is teaching me how to do editing. I met with him; he is a cool guy and I really like him.   The editing looks so cool and it is so
awesome.   I learnt many things - I learned about how to make clips shorter or longer.  We did a little bit of work; and I have to ask Matt if we can borrow his voice next day 4.   I need his voice to read the narration.  Mr. Pinto is bringing something to record Matt's voice.

Start the Adventure

Hello, my name is Cameron and I am making a trailer.   A fake trailer - not a real trailer.  I say this because I am not making a real life movie; this trailer is only an example.  I am going to learn to edit my video.   My trailer will be about a minute long, maybe a little longer.   In my last blog, where I talked about being a critic, I realized that critics do not always have crew members.  I am doing this by myself, so that, if I do become a critic, I can use cameras and know how to edit video footage by myself.
So far, I have been organizing myself to get the things I need - a camera, an actor, a script, and a mentor. I have all those things down.   We had a few problems along the way;   The camera has too much video on it so I had to figure out how to get rid of  some of it.   My problem was solved this past weekend.  Finding the mentor was hard; so was writing the script.   It was hard because I had so many ideas running through my head and I had to sort through them.
I probably have the video with me but I might take a "take 2" because the video might have been erased.   My actor Matt is a good character and everything is working out with him.  "Good luck with your work Matt!!!"
The trail is leaving so I'm on my way...

The end of the show....

What's up everyone?  It's the cartoon critic again.  I'm almost completely done with my introduction, just a few bugs to work out.  The trouble is finding the good background; I haven't found one I'm really happy with, but there is one that I've been filming against anyways.  I am making progress, I just need an opening song to my critique and picking certain scenes I want to comment on.  We'll, I'm signing off;  I'm the cartoon critic, I look at cartoons so you don't have to.
Merry Christmas!!

Lights, camera, puppets

Yesterday, me and one of my friends ( who helps me) went to the public library here in transcona.  I went to practice using the video camera. I filmed some puppet shows.   One of the people who work at the library - Mr. B. - he gave us a puppet show.  I video taped it to see if I could figure out  proper angles, sound, and other details.
I learned how to use a tripod.   I learned that the sound from my camera does not pick up enough sound so I am going to need a boom mic or some kind of mic when I do my critique.
After we were done, Mr. B and I took a look at the video.   We found a couple of flaws, like, the dragon kept getting stuck in the curtain, but I also found out that my camera is very good.
